Davinder’s compositions are centered upon the reality of this physical world, and his pen will touch your soul every time. Readers connect naturally to his writing, which has different flavours for lovers and seekers. He’s excited to leave behind something for people to read, for people who haven’t even been born in his lifespan. His writings reflect the reality and heartbreaks of this physical world, with a melancholy backdrop and a rich, heartening feel.
Davinder’s grass-roots awareness of human emotions came from a happy childhood spent in a Punjab village, whole days spent in sugarcane fields with friends and coming home late in the evening, his family’s move to Canada, education in Metro Vancouver, and lessons learnt from the humiliation and ridicule by people he trusted and loved.
Davinder had become a rather reclusive writer, has a baroque imagination and weaves tales of heartbreak, yearning and true meaning of life.
In his early twenties, Davinder revisited his birthplace in Punjab and was inspired by legendary Punjabi poet Shiv Kumar Batalvi, Franz Kafka and by Oscar Wilde. His simple poems and stories delve deep into human relationships and embrace the discovery of self. Davinder’s characters resonate with most, in simple yet profound verse.
Davinder devours biographies of famous and not so famous people, curious about how they lived and died. When he isn’t reading or writing, he goes for long walks.
